Specialist packaging printer OPM offer Packaging Clinic at the Speciality and Fine Food Fair, Harrogate
Yorkshire’s packaging and label print specialists OPM offered a Packaging Clinic to exhibitors and trade visitors to the Speciality and Fine Food Fair, Harrogate.

The trade-only event is designed as a showcase for small producers, regional groups, new companies and established brands, enabling them to market their products and new ideas.

Managing director Chris Ellison comments “As specialist producers of high quality labels and flexible packaging, we know that great products also need excellent packaging, so we were on hand at the exhibition to provide advice and guidance to exhibitors and trade visitors interested in making more of their packaging.”

The OPM Group has won more than fifty international print awards for technical print excellence over the past three years, with more than twenty awards won in the past twelve months.

Chris Ellison comments: “We have won awards for designing and printing labels and packaging for a wide range of companies – from new ventures to established global brands. For companies of all sizes, packaging is a critical element of successful marketing, and one that is often overlooked.”

He adds: “New businesses often associate high quality packaging with expense, but – in addition to producing large volume print runs – we have also created a niche for producing high quality print across short runs. Our print quality is not compromised but our short runs enable companies to test new products and packaging formats quickly and easily, and at less cost than large print volumes.”

Ellison explains that the labelling and packaging market is brimming with innovative print materials, inks and finishes, all of which can assist in marketing products.

“Businesses can create a label that truly reflects their brand and their product. For example, metallic inks can create eye catching products and a sense of luxury; irridescent inks help to exude quality, and laminated finishes can help a label to look good even after the long journey from the production line to the customer’s kitchen.”

The OPM Group prints high quality labels and flexible packaging for the food and confectionery sectors, and regional and national brewing companies. They are also preferred label and packaging printers for a number of major retailers and supermarkets.

The OPM Group was founded in 1972 and has grown to become a specialist in the development and production of high quality printed labelling and packaging materials.
