Narrow web specialist packaging and labels printer The OPM Group has been nominated for a record number of international packaging awards – the ‘Oscars’ of the print industry.
OPM been nominated for sixteen prestigious awards from the European Flexographic Technical Association, (EFTA) including an environmental award for specialist production of an innovative water soluble label.
The group has also been listed for seven awards, across all categories for the American based Flexographic Technical Association (FTA).
OPM provides flexible packaging and specialist labels to a range of commercial partners including major health and cosmetics companies, supermarkets, food manufacturers and brewing groups. The group has developed a strong reputation for their technical excellence, and has won more than fifty international awards since 2003.
OPM Managing Director Chris Ellison comments “We are delighted to have been nominated for these awards. Both EFTA and the FTA are highly regarded technical bodies, and their assessment of printers’ technical quality is very important in the market place.”
The nominations demonstrate OPM’s continued success in producing short run flexible packaging – a niche market that they entered only recently, in 2002.
Chris Ellison comments: “The flexible packaging items produced by OPM are very high quality. We have created a strong position in this market because we produce top quality print in short run quantities.”
He adds: ”Our ability to service smaller volumes allows new product development managers and marketing managers to create a small batch of a product to test with customers, or to conduct a market trial.”
“Our clients need to be confident that our flexible packaging is of the highest quality but also want to deal with a printer whose production processes can specialise in short runs. “
Managing Director Chris Ellison said: “We look forward to discovering which of the nominations have earned us EFTA or FTA awards. That said, simply being nominated is an achievement in itself, and we are proud to be in the company of the world’s most technically proficient printers.”
